Digital Radio toddler-just born-finding its way

Interesting article on solar powered DAB radio available. Digital Radio is also being trialled. Concerns have been expressed at the inaugral IBF (Irish Broadcasting Federation) by local radio about the potential for too many radio stations in the market to be viable if DAB was introduced fully. RTÉ see the benefits off better catering to audiences with more spectrum available than with FM.

Potential options are TV audio feed radio stations that bring the imagination to life, and more programming information such as an bigger EPG window on the programme, in evolution 2 of DAB radio equipment. Hybrid radio-TV stations are also possible, though unlikely due to spectrum demand pre-ASO. These would be simulcast using mostly studio viewing with videos and advertisements shown visually ie use of TV ads uses in radio.
